Privacy Policy

Effective date: July 26, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how crushcritic.com (“Crush Critic,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you visit our website. Crush Critic is an independent editorial review site. We do not offer user accounts, we do not sell products directly, and we collect as little personal information as a modern website reasonably can.

Information We Collect

Information You Provide

The only personal information we receive directly from you is what you choose to send us — for example, if you email us with a question, correction, or partnership inquiry. That typically includes your email address and whatever you write in the message. We use it solely to respond to you.

Information Collected Automatically

Like most websites, we use analytics to understand how visitors use the site. Specifically:

  • Google Analytics 4 (GA4). GA4 sets cookies and collects information such as pages viewed, approximate location (city/country level), device and browser type, referral source, and session activity. This data is aggregated and pseudonymous; we do not use it to identify individual visitors. Google’s own privacy practices are described in Google’s privacy policy.
  • Server logs. Our hosting infrastructure may automatically record standard technical data such as IP addresses, timestamps, and requested URLs for security and troubleshooting purposes.

Cookies

We use cookies for analytics as described above. You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings, and you can opt out of Google Analytics using Google’s browser opt-out tools. Blocking cookies will not prevent you from reading anything on this site.

Affiliate Links and Tracking Parameters

Crush Critic is supported by affiliate commissions. Some links on this site — including our /go/ redirect links — take you to third-party platforms and include tracking parameters that tell the platform you arrived from our site. If you sign up or make a purchase, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you.

These tracking parameters identify our site as the referral source; they do not transmit your name, email address, or any personal information from us to the platform — we do not hold that information in the first place. Once you land on a third-party platform, its own cookies, tracking, and privacy policy apply. See our Affiliate Disclosure page for full details on how affiliate relationships work here.

How We Use Information

  • To operate, maintain, and improve the website
  • To understand which reviews and guides visitors find useful
  • To respond to emails you send us
  • To measure the performance of affiliate partnerships in aggregate
  • To protect the site against abuse, spam, and security threats

What We Do Not Do

  • We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. Ever.
  • We do not run user accounts, so we hold no passwords, profiles, or chat logs.
  • We do not send marketing emails or newsletters unless you explicitly ask to receive something from us.
  • We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. This site reviews adult-oriented platforms and is intended for adults only.

Third-Party Websites

Our reviews link to third-party AI companion platforms and other external sites. We are not responsible for their content, privacy practices, or security. Anything you share with a third-party platform — including account details, payment information, and conversations — is governed by that platform’s own privacy policy, which we strongly encourage you to read before signing up.

Data Retention

Analytics data is retained according to our GA4 configuration and Google’s retention settings. Emails you send us are kept only as long as needed to handle your inquiry and for reasonable record-keeping, after which they may be deleted.

Your Rights (GDPR, CCPA, and Similar Laws)

Depending on where you live, you may have rights under the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), or similar laws, including the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Request correction or deletion of that information
  • Object to or restrict certain processing
  • Data portability, where applicable
  • Non-discrimination for exercising any of these rights

Because we collect so little personal data, most requests are simple: in practice, the only personal information we are likely to hold is email correspondence you sent us. To exercise any right, email us at hello@crushcritic.com and we will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law. California residents: we do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined by the CCPA/CPRA.

International Visitors

This site is operated from within the United States context of our analytics and hosting providers, and data may be processed on servers located in various countries. By using the site, you understand your information may be transferred to and processed in countries with different data protection laws than your own.

Security

We use reasonable technical measures — HTTPS, access controls on our infrastructure, and minimal data collection — to protect the limited information we handle. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date at the top of this page. Significant changes will be noted more prominently. Continued use of the site after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
